My work is simply a response to weather conditions and landscape around me. I prefer to work outside in the landscape I choose to paint, allowing interference or adaption from weather conditions at that time. I am influenced by the Cornish coastline, the Scottish Islands including Orkney and Shetland, Iceland, Kilve and the Quantock Hills. I use acrylic and handwriting ink and also oil paint usually with a wet surface to start and often throughout the making of the piece.

I graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen (BA Hons Fine Art) and have since painted on a part-time basis, but exhibiting regularly in Somerset:
