Ponies and then horses were a big part of my childhood as my Grandfather owned a few, so from age 4 onwards, I was actively involved in looking after and riding them. These days, I do not own horses, but will never, I think, lose my love for them. In my work, which has a bias towards PRE Andalusians I am inspired by their beauty, strength, gentleness and intelligence. I usually use ink and enjoy the challenge of following up more detailed pencil drawing to wetting the paper and letting the ink flow.
